Service Description
Just for You – Beginner Pottery Wheel Course (3 Sessions) Ready to get your hands muddy and your creativity flowing? This Beginner Wheel Course includes three guided sessions, each 2 hours long, held over three consecutive weeks in a relaxed, supportive studio environment. You’ll learn the fundamentals of pottery wheel throwing on a modern wheel, with hands-on guidance from studio tutor Ani Rowell. No experience needed — this course is designed to gently build skills and confidence week by week. Over the three sessions, you’ll learn: How to throw basic cups, mugs, and bowls on the wheel Centring, shaping, and pulling clay How to trim your pieces for a clean, professional finish The basics of glazing, so your work is finished, fired, and ready to use What’s included: All materials, tools, glazes, and firings — everything you need to go from a lump of clay to a finished, functional piece. What to bring: Comfortable clothing (not too loose) Short fingernails for easier wheel work An apron or old towel to keep the clay where it belongs Where: 19 Ross Rise, Taupō — approximately 12 minutes from the town centre. Unleash your creativity, enjoy the process, and leave with pottery you’ll be proud to say you made yourself.

Cancellations made 7 days or more before the workshop date are eligible for a studio credit only. Cancellations made within 7 days of the workshop are non-refundable and not eligible for credit. Participants may transfer their booking to another person. Where a cancelled place is successfully re-filled, a refund may be offered at the discretion of the studio. Stay Awesome
