Service Description
This is an introduction to the Pottery wheel - suits complete beginners want to learn the basics of throwing pottery on the wheel. All of our classes are designed to be fun, educational and to provide you with as much learning opportunity as possible. Your tutor Ani is a working artist & potter who has dedicated her life to pottery and to sharing her knowledge and studio. You will focus on centering the clay - (think scales for musicians!) and making simple forms and bowls with the final night dedicated to glazing your work. Beginner Course’s will be run on a weekday evening, From 6pm to 8pm - four consecutive weeks. located at 19 Ross Rise - Taupo 4 persons only per Class. Open to 15 + plus years Course is 4 weeks in duration, with the final session of the course reserved for glazing (color!) You will learn to center clay on the wheel, and pull basics forms, i.e., bowls and cups, (think scales for musician) and glaze the final products. Clay and tools included, short finger nails recommended. Please bring a old towel and wear comfortable clothing or an apron. If you are unable to make your class, we are happy for you to on-sell your ticket and we will try and assist with this where possible.
